Songbooks
To filter out songs you want to play, you can make custom songbooks. The songbook is just an ordered list of songs. There is always one default songbook named All songs. Its order is read-only and songs cannot be removed from it.
The same song can appear multiple times in a songbook.
In the left panel you can see list of your songs. The list is the same as in Songs module but has some functionality disabled. On the right is your songbook list.
You can put songs in the songbook. With buttons you can insert selected songs to the start, to the end, above selected songbook song, or below. Second way is to drag&drop - dragging selected songs by the handle will show you, where will you be dropping them in the songbook.
You can reorder the songs. You can use buttons on the selected songs to move the song one song over, to the start or to the end. You can also use handle to drag&drop the song.
Any row, in either list, has a preview that opens the song's render in a dialog with an Edit button. Editing from here takes you into the song editor and back to the songbook exactly where you left off, same selection, same scroll.
The songbook list has its own search above it. It does not hide anything. Instead of filtering, it jumps to the next matching entry (by name, title, subtitle, or lyrics), so a slot you were looking at stays put. A counter shows where you are, Enter and the arrows step through the matches and Esc clears. Like every search in the app, it ignores accents.
Removing a song from a songbook won't delete the song. The song can be deleted only in the Songs module.
A songbook can restyle the chords of all its songs - chord color, chord size and font are songbook-scoped settings.
A click on a songbook shows its title page in the pane beside the list, and a double click opens it. On a phone there is no such pane, so one tap opens it.
Each songbook in the list carries its own actions on the row: settings, rename, duplicate, download, and delete. Download covers the export too, and the file format is the first thing its dialog asks. Duplicating one makes an independent copy with the same songs, which are only referenced, so nothing is copied twice.
The All songs book can be downloaded, as a PDF of your whole library or an export of it, but not renamed, duplicated, deleted or opened. It is the library itself, not a book you made. To browse your songs, use the Songs module.
Settings
The row's Settings opens the songbook's own dialog: its title page fields, the chord settings above, and how the book is put together when it is printed. All of it belongs to the book, so a download only draws the book as it already stands.
- Title page: whether there is one, and its style. Its title, subtitle and author are the songbook's own fields, separate from any song's title and subtitle. It is a rendered page of the songbook, so it wears the book's own chord colours and fonts, the same page you see previewed in
Songbooks, centred on the sheet. - Summary: a contents list of every song against its page number. Each line is a link, so tap it to jump to the song. The title page and the summary are not numbered, and the first song is page 1. You choose which side of the title the number sits on: after it, at the right edge of the column under a row of leader dots, or before it, as

Wonderwall, with the numbers in a column of their own and every title lined up past the widest of them. - Page numbers: whether they are printed, and where they sit (any corner or centred, top or bottom, or before the song title, which puts the number into the song's heading instead of onto the paper, so the book reads like a hymnal: "turn to 7"). The numbers are never padded: 1, 2, … 10, 11.
Because All songs has no order of its own, its settings dialog carries one section more: the order it is arranged in, by song title, library name, or date (created or changed), in either direction, with an option to put your favorites first. A real songbook keeps the order you arranged, so it has no such choice. All songs has no fields of its own either, so its dialog is the print section and that order, nothing else. Both are kept on the device.
Download
When downloading the songbook, you first choose the format: a PDF, a ZIP of images (one per song), or the Achordeon file. A PDF then asks about the paper alone:
- paper size: A4, Letter or A5
- orientation: portrait or landscape
- the page margin, in millimetres
Your last paper choices are remembered on the device, so the next download opens on the same paper. Taking the Achordeon file is not one of them, because it says nothing about paper, so it is not remembered.
Printing settings will not change the aspect ratio of a song. Every song keeps its own shape and is scaled to fit the page, so a song shaped unlike the paper sits centred with white either side.
